AMAZING RESULTS FROM THE 2009 AMAZING RACE
A big thank you to all the participants, volunteers, sponsors and donors who were a part of this years Amazing Race for Heartwood Place. We are pleased to announce that this years race raised over $35,000.00
We are already planning next years event which will take place on September 18, 2010. We hope to see you there.
Heartwood Place is pleased to announce that we have received approval for $4.62 million from the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program. This grant comes under the Rental and Supportive Component—Brownfields Initiative and demonstrates that federal, provincial and municipal governments can work cooperatively to help clean up brownfields, revitalize old urban centres, and build much-needed affordable housing. These funds will help Heartwood Place create 66 new apartments in a seven-storey building at 26 Ainslie St S. in downtown Galt. On the former Cambridge Reporter site, the $10.622-million project will include one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as a main floor Community Room and adjoining Coffee Shop with training and employment opportunities.
